Golf

The Crusader golf team competes in the MIAA B Conference. In addition to team match play competition, selected players are invited each year to compete in the MIAA Individual Stroke Play tournament. In 2008, senior Jeff Smith (’08), who now plays golf for McDaniel College, made the first day cut at the tournament.

The team is coached by Mr. Paul Sloyer. Practices and home matches are held at Diamond Ridge Golf Course in Windsor Mill. Away matches afford players the opportunity to play at some of the area’s premiere courses.

The team has developed into a perennial contender in recent years, making the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. With only one player graduating in 2009, the future looks bright for Gibbons Golf.
