High School Activities
Participation in extracurricular activities is essential to the Gibbons’ experience. The school is blessed with dedicated faculty who act as moderators and coaches for almost every sport and after school activity. Whether on the athletic field, stage or mountaintop, students display their talents while building relationships that will last a lifetime.
Athletics
The Cardinal Gibbons School boasts athletic teams in the A, B and C conferences of the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). The Crusaders compete in Football, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, Lacrosse, Baseball and Golf. Over thirty percent of our student body participate in Crusader Athletics. Letterman is an honor given to a student athlete who competes in 5 Varsity sports during their 4 years at the Cardinal Gibbons School. The Crusaders compete at the highest level of competition and are held to a high academic standard which must be accomplished to compete for the school.
Clubs
Clubs play a big role in defining the Gibbons community. The kinds of clubs we have demonstrate the character and diversity of the school. Many clubs host events that have become Gibbons traditions.
Events
Events are held at the school to benefit the school community, provide awareness, and in many cases, provide support to those less fortunate that ourselves. The Student Council provides a structure for student government and sponsors many of these events and dances.

Campus Ministry
Campus ministry is an integral part of the Gibbons experience. Liturgies provide an opportunity for the school community to celebrate the mass together. Class retreats provide lessons in team building for freshman year, service opportunities for sophomores, and concentrated reflection for our juniors and seniors. The Cardinal Gibbons School is committed to providing opportunities for service and requires 60 hours of service for graduation in that hope that service will continue to be a part of our student’s post graduate lives.
Code of Conduct
All students of Cardinal Gibbons School are expected to uphold the student regulations as dictated in the Student Regulations of the Cardinal Gibbons handbook. Students must realize that they share in the responsibility of promoting the good name of Cardinal Gibbons School. A student who brings discredit to himself or to the school’s good name as a result of improper conduct both in school and outside the school will be dealt with in an appropriate manner when the misconduct becomes known to the school.
