Cardinal Gibbons School Library
The Cardinal Gibbons School Library is an integral part of a Baltimore Archdiocesan and Lasallian Catholic school dedicated to the preparation of young men for further education and for leadership in the church and in society.
In support of the school’s mission the library is the place for further development of the student – their interests and skills. It is the goal for each student to gain a better understanding of himself and the world around him by using the various resources available to him.
To fulfill this mission the library will provide:
- access to the world of social and cultural ideas through the circulation of various print media.
- access to various reference resources, with timely and accurate information, representing a broad spectrum of knowledge.
- curriculum related resources for students as well as teachers.
- programs and services for all ages that encourage reading, learning and cultural enrichment.
It is our goal to fulfill this mission in an atmosphere that fosters Christian values and promotes self-directed, life-long learning.
We owe a great deal of thanks to the Healy Family and the Sheridan Foundation for their support of the library. Due to the generosity of the Healy Family we were able to install new carpet and curtains as well as a fresh coat of paint. The Sheridan Foundation provided the funds to purchase new computers, library software and supplies to support the newly automated library.
Due to the dedication of Mrs. Cheri Auger, mother of Luke ’11, and Mrs. Dona Tilyou, mother of Paul ’10, we have made great strides in automating and reorganizing the library.
