On May 1st, 2004, Brother Kevin Strong was installed as the first President of the Cardinal Gibbons School.  With a record of achievement that is unrivaled in the Baltimore area, Brother Kevin brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the school.

Brother Kevin has always believed that relationships and people make schools, not just the buildings that hold them.  In that vein, Brother Kevin began his career as a Brother as a Guidance Counselor and Spanish instructor at St John's College in Washington DC.  He then moved to La Salle High School in Philadelphia, continuing his work in the classroom and with the boys of the Christian Brothers Schools.

In 1979, Brother moved from the classroom to an administrator's role, as Vice Principal of West Catholic in Philadelphia.  He spent five years learning the qualities that would later serve him so well as a leader of schools, and was rewarded with his first principal's position at Archbishop John Carroll in Radnor, PA, where he served until 1990.

Brother Kevin's love of people and natural ability to fill a room with warmth did not go unnoticed, and in 1990, he was appointed President of Calvert Hall College in Baltimore, where he served for 10 years and presided over numerous projects to improve the campus, including the jewel of the athletic program, Russo Stadium.

Always one to help young men find their purpose, Brother Kevin has twice served as Director of Aspirants, where he provides guidance and mentoring for young men who wish to follow the Founder, St John Baptist de La Salle. 

Brother Kevin comes to Cardinal Gibbons School with a great deal of energy and diversity of experience, including a Papal Honor, service on 10 Middle States Evaluation Committees, and sitting on the board of numerous institutions. In just three short years, the school has seen a rebirth, with the reopening of the Fine Arts building, the restoration of the theater, a massive marketing campaign, and many other projects designed to beautify the existing footprint of the school.

Proud of his Irish heritage and creative side, Brother Kevin has released a book of poems, Walking in God's Presence, and a CD of Irish music, Sing Claddagh.
