Varsity Cricket Roster
The Cardinal Gibbons High School cricket team, playing in a new 19 & under youth league, is the first high school team in the United States without any players from traditional cricket playing nations, and are the only high school cricket team of any kind outside of New York City's public school league. They are pioneers in their field, and the forerunners of what is expected to be an explosion of interest in youth cricket. They have also attracted the attention of American national cricket authorities.
The team's success is so important to the American cricket community that it has been visited by USACA President Gladstone Dainty, who told the boys that they were at the forefront of a great movement. USACA considers the Cardinal Gibbons team a prototype for the growth plans of American cricket, which include an aggressive marketing push in the youth market. The Cardinal Gibbons team is in the vanguard of what the U.S.A. Cricket Association plans for the development of youth cricket in America.
